The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* (universal) Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
We are David & Annette Mercer. We have been married for 32 wonderful years. We have four children and five grand children. We have been serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for over 25 years.
It is the primary mission of this website to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. There are many deceitful churches and websites today that water down the gospel. It is our goal to glorify God, stand firm in the biblical truths, and to help people build their relationship with Jesus Christ.
We share Bible Outlines, Character Studies, and Bible Studies that we have developed over the years. It is a joy for us to get to know our fellow Christians from all over the world, so please use our contact page to drop us a line and let us know where you are. You can find social media links in the side bar to the right.
Statement of faith
Although We are non-denominational, we do consider ourselves to be Apostolic Pentecostal. We believe that Jesus died on the cross on our behalf, that He rose again the third day, and that He sits at the right hand of God. We believe people should live a holy and modest lifestyle pleasing and acceptable to Jesus Christ.
The Word of God
We believe the Bible, comprised of the Old and New Testaments (in their original writings), to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18).
Jesus Christ, The Incarnate Son of God
Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, miracles, death on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven. (John 1:1-3; John 1:14; Luke 1:34-35; Matthew 1:23; Romans 3:25).
We also affirm:
Through the fall of Adam, sin entered the world; and through sin came death, because all have sinned. We all deserve God’s Holy just wrath. We all deserve Hell because we have sinned before a Holy God. Out of God’s grace He sent His Son to live the life that we couldn’t and die the death that we deserve. Jesus paid our fine in full.
He died, He was buried, and He was resurrected for our sins. Salvation is not by works. Salvation is not by faith and works. Salvation is obtained by grace alone, through faith alone, in the work of Christ alone. God grants us belief and God grants us repentance.
Works are a result of faith in Christ alone. We obey not because it saves us, but because we are saved by His blood. We were made new by His grace and we are so thankful for His gift. (Romans 5:12; Romans 3:27-28; Ephesians 2:9-9; Philippians 1:29; Acts 11:18).
The Apostles’ Creed
The above creed is called the Apostles’ Creed not because it was produced by the apostles themselves but because it contains a brief summary of their teachings. It sets forth their doctrine “in sublime simplicity, in unsurpassable brevity, in beautiful order, and with liturgical solemnity.” In its present form it is dated no later than the fourth century. More than any other Christian creed, it may justly be called an ecumenical symbol of faith. This translation of the Latin text was approved by the CRC Synod of 1988.
